How Soap Helped Me Heal
When the world began to shut down during COVID-19, my own world shifted even more. I was in the middle of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with colon cancer, spending long, quiet hours at home and in treatment. One day, while watching YouTube to pass the time, I saw a woman making soap. Something about it felt calm and hopeful. With extra time on my hands and a deep need for healing, I decided to try it.At first, I made a lot of mistakes. Batches failed, recipes flopped, and I questioned myself more than once. But slowly, with patience and practice, the bars started to turn out beautiful. Each one felt like a small victory—a reminder that something gentle and good could still come out of a hard season.Along the way, I began learning about natural ingredients and their benefits—like soothing lavender, nourishing raw honey, and other simple, honest things that are kind to the skin.Today, I’m still learning and growing with every batch. Making soap has become more than a hobby—it’s my way of turning pain into something soft, kind, and useful. These natural soaps are pieces of that journey, and I’m honored to share them with you. I hope they bring a little comfort and care into your day, the way making them has done for me.
